South Africa is Grey-listed

Despite the efforts and optimism of many local institutions, South Africa has made it onto the “Grey List” of the Financial Action Task Force, which was updated on 24th February 2023.

The result of this is increased monitoring by FATF and South Africa having to work harder with FATF to improve local AML regulation.
